When you’re stuck at home every day it can be tempting to let your personal style go on the bin. Experts have said that maintaining a routine can help you manage your mental health while you are in self-isolation.
Part of that routine is personal grooming and styling.
A lot of people find joy in changing up their look daily. And with more and more people finding they have too much time on their hands, it is a perfect time to start experimenting with your morning routine.
To help you stay sane this week, we’ve put together a Monday-Friday style guide for inspiration. Just in case you couldn’t get any chilli flakes in your latest ‘panic shop’, we’ve also included different colour contact lenses you can use to spice up your look each day.
Our Weekly Self Isolation Style Tips
It used to be the worst day of the week, but now it seems like any other day. Even if you’re working from home, you don’t have to deal with that annoying commute or that strict workplace dress code.
In celebration of your freedom from the workplace, Monday should be a homage to Sunday. Treat yourself to a matching tracksuit. Added points if you have velvet and rhinestones. We will settle for matching pyjamas as long as they are accompanied by ugg boots.
To complement this sleepy self-isolation style tip, add a pair of cool grey lenses.
A lot of people used to look forward to taco Tuesday after getting home from work. You can still have taco Tuesday, but we want your style to be just as colourful.
Today, we want you to wear at least three different colours. No, black, white, and grey don’t count. Not to be shady, we just want to make sure you don't get stuck in a rut.
Add to your multi-coloured look with a pair of natural green lenses.
Hump day gets a new meaning in self-isolation.
We want you to make Wednesdays as sexy as possible. It’s hard enough to get through the midweek blues in general, without being locked inside. Find your sexiest outfit and put it on.
Bonus points for leather.
Make your Wednesday as sexy as possible with a pair of bloody red contact lenses. We promise it will look perfect with your matching leather jacket and pants.
Throwback Thursday is here and you better be ready to get creative. While looking at old photo albums is a great way to spend your time, to help you with your self-isolation style, we have a challenge for you.
- Jump in your wardrobe and make an outfit with pieces of clothing that you haven't worn for at least one year.
- If you’re at home, raid your mum’s drawers for her old 80’s clothes. I’m telling you, they are in there somewhere.
- Wear the outfit you wore on your last day BC (before COVID).
Add to your retro look with a pair of jade blue lenses. There’s no special reason for this, we just like the colour.
TGIF am I right? To celebrate making it through the week of staying at home, we think you should spend the day in the nude. (Make sure you warn your housemates — or don’t)
Who needs pants off Friday when you can have clothes off Friday.
To complement this ‘simple’ look, try these honey coloured lenses. You’ll feel like your eyes are nude too.
